Taking Correction

Taking correction is something I have been and am still working on. Correction is hard to hear especially when you think you're not doing anything wrong. This is something I've struggled with for a long time and although I am a lot better about it now, it is still something I have to remind myself of.. My inspiration for this post comes not only from my rebellious past, but my boyfriend pointed out something the other day that I was doing that wasn't respectful. My feelings were hurt because he made a comment about it, but he was right. Although it was something small, I had to stop and think, if I didn't fix this, could it affect our relationship if this grew? Not only that, but he wasn't trying to be rude, it was something I needed to fix within myself. This can apply to any correction given whether it be from parents, mentors, boyfriend/girlfriend, or God himself. You have to stop and think, "What can I do better? What am I doing wrong here?" That reaction is so much better than getting hurt over it and holding a grudge towards that person for saying something. This is something that has taken me forever to learn. I was pretty rebellious in my teenage days as I said before, and I didn't want to hear anything my parents had to say. I went along thinking that what I was doing was okay and that I didn't need to change. That part of my life was one of the most poisonous seasons of my life (there were a few like this actually). I didn't take correction from the ones who loved me most and that hindered my relationships with not only them but with God as well. Taking correction is only to help YOU. It creates learning, humbling, understanding, and helps you be a better you. Correction takes place throughout all stages of life whether it be in the work force, your home, school, or relationships. The quicker you learn this lesson, the better. Trust me.

Heres what The Lord says about correction:

"For The Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child." Hebrews 12:6

"To learn you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction." Proverbs 12:1

"Only a fool despises a parent's discipline; whoever learns from correction is wise." Proverbs 15:5

"Whoever abandons the right path will be severely disciplined; whoever hates correction will die." Proverbs 15:10

When looking at these verses I realized that this is written SO many times throughout Proverbs which goes to show how important this concept of taking correction is. Correction brings about wisdom and produces fruit in your life, so take it like a BOSS and better yourself!

Moss Skincare Review

am SO excited to finally be writing and sharing this post. If you saw my Facebook post somewhat recently you know I've been into natural skincare. I started getting into the natural skincare not because I'm a hippie who thinks only things of nature work, but because I've tried all the chemicals hoping for miracles and it did nothing, I mean NOTHING good for me. I am now focusing a lot more on what goes into my body as well as what goes on it. This brand has been my biggest inspiration for starting my own natural/organic GOOD FOR YOU skincare line. It's something I've wanted to do for a while and once I found MOSS this solidified that love and this passion in me started to grow stronger. I love researching all of these ingredients and learning about the amazing benefits they have for the skin. I would love nothing more than to work with Celestyna because I can tell she has so much knowledge in this area and our passions are so similar, I know I would learn so much from her. Unfortunately I don't live in Cali. I know, sad face.

Anyway, as I've said before in many posts and if you know me, I've struggled with oily/acne prone skin since the middle school days (long long ago). When I say oily I don't mean oily I mean you could use the oil my skin produces in one day to grease pans, EXTREME oil. I've tried everything on the market from drugstore to high end, best of the best and nothing seemed to work for me. I tried starting accutane and then I broke my collar bone and had to get off of it while my bone healed. After it was healed I tried again and I had so many issues just trying to get to the doctor and then get registered and get my prescription. It was a huge mess so I took that as a sign that I shouldn't be on it. Soon after. I found MOSS and instantly fell in love with the products (not so much the price tag, but I totally get it because after making my own, I know these amazing ingredients are NOT cheap). When I started reading her blog posts and her research and explanations of each product and ingredient I thought "wow she GETS it". Of course since these products are natural it took a little while for my skin to balance out, but it did and my skin has never FELT better. Of course it's not perfect by any means and I still get occasional breakouts, but it is SO much more manageable and when I get one, I spot treat and I'm good to go. The oil my skin produces is now in a normal range which is something I never thought was possible. (I'll go over my current skincare routine in another post). Not only is my skin looking better, but I feel that after finding my passion in this, I am a happier person overall. I love the scent of these products, not only do they work wonders for the skin but they are aromatherapeutic as well.
Now without further adieu on to the product reviews...

Look at these beauties

Top L to R

1. Vert Pur- the absolute most amazing smelling oil cleanser ever. I LOVE Vert, it feels so good to massage into my skin and it takes any trace of makeup off, leaving my skin deeply cleaned and smelling lovely. This sinks into the skin for a deep cleansing, perfect for night time.

2. Equilibrium- this has to be one of my favorite products. Equilibrium is an exfoliating facial serum and I love using this in the morning with a drop of clear res mixed in or by itself. This gives you a non-greasy feeling and a matte finish which I love for the day time. It is quickly absorbed making it ideal to use before I put on my makeup.

3. Sacred Ground- this is a powder that you mix with a little water or honey to create a mask. This stuff is so powerful, when I feel that I'm breaking out (usually around THAT time) I'll mix up a little of this and my skin feels and looks so much better. I love using this to tackle any unwanted, stubborn spots, or just for pampering myself.

4. Clear Resolution- I seriously love this facial oil so much. After washing my face at night I will put a little of this on afterwards followed by nutrient synergist. This smells amazing and works wonders for my oily skin. I believe that this little baby is what calmed my skin down most and helped it regulate the oil that it's producing. I will also use this in the morning mixed with halo on days I know I will be outside a good bit. Definitely one of my favorites.

5.Nutrient synergist- this goes on after using a facial oil to help the oil soak deeper into the skin so that you're not left with that greasy feeling. Like all of her products, it smells so so good. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, and takes away that "oil" feeling and I can feel all the goodness being absorbed into my skin. Hence it being an absorbing fluid.

6. Halo- this is a powder sunscreen product that you can mix in with any of her facial oils. It is very protective, I wear it throughout the day and it lasts on on the skin. There is a little bit of a white cast, but I don't mind that at all. It's not super noticeable, and I actually like it because it slightly covers the redness of my skin. It doesn't break me out and I feel like it definitely does its job.

There are a few other products I can't wait to try when my bank account allows it including Purist 9 facial oil, Behold eye cream, Clean Canvas, and I know there's been talk about a concealer. We all know how I feel about makeup so I can't wait for that!

Needless to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE these products!

I am still making samples so if you want to try one let me know!
If you wanna check out MOSS products, her website is mosskincare.com and more recently she is launching Aqne Pharmacy with TONS of great things. If you want to know more, head to her website and read her blogs and I highly recommend these products!

Back to School?

That's right! I will be graduating in May from LSU with an accounting degree and once the end of May or June comes around (depending on class availability) I will be going back to school to become a licensed aesthetician! I'm so excited about this process and about getting to do what I love on an everyday basis. Although I do like accounting, it's not what I'm passionate about. I want to wake up in the morning and LOVE what I do. I want to be excited about going to work everyday and know that I'm making a difference in the lives of others. I want others to know and see their beauty inside and out and to be able to share the love of Jesus through my work. I know this is something The Lord is calling me to pursue and I believe this is the next step towards my destiny.
I do not regret getting a business degree nor do I think it was a waste of time. I know that my degree will only help me in the future with the plans that I have, and I know God put me here for 4 years for a reason. I have learned so much about the business world that I feel is necessary for what I envision for my life and my future goals and plans. I also learned to do my own taxes woo! Not only have I made some great memories in college that I will never forget, I also met the love of my life so I'd say that's a win :)
I am so excited about this next step that I'm taking. Of course I will be busy as ever as I will still be working afterwards, but I'm pretty pumped about getting to sleep about an hour or so later everyday. YAY for sleep! I know it's going to be hard financially (not only financially but other reasons as well) for me, but I'm taking this by faith and I know that this is where He is leading me so I believe He will get me through it. CAN'T WAIT!

"You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny," Psalms 73:24

So excited for my next post about Mosskincare coming VERY soon so stay tuned for that!
