I found this 3 drawer piece for $60 at target and I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. They are plastic and have a wooden looking top. It doesn't look super cheap (it doesn't look expensive either), it's easy to clean, and fits in the spot I wanted it perfectly. You can put the small wheels on it for convenience, which I like, but I didn't put them on (laziness takes over). I may eventually put them on so it will be easier to use. I don't expect this storage to last me forever either, but it should last me a while and it does the job nicely. I bought some smaller organization baskets for inside the drawers at the dollar store and spent about $10 on all of the pieces (11 pieces).
Excuse the shadows in these pictures, I just snapped them on my phone right before I left.
Before:
(plus the stuff in my messy makeup bags)
After:
I tried to do all face products in one drawer and eyes in another. I've only filled up two so far.
Top Drawer:
setting sprays, foundations, concealers, bronzers, highlighters, and powders
Bottom drawer:
eyeshadows... my palettes will go in that space next to my individuals & duos, eyeliners, eyebrow pencils, mascaras, blushes, & random lip products that didn't fit in my lipstick holder.
Finished Product:
I will also add my brushes on top!
On another note...I went to the dermatologist this morning and this time I went to different one to get a second opinion on what to do about my crazy hormonal acne. Although it is much better than it was, it still isn't clear and it is one of the most frustrating things in the world. I have dealt with it for so long and I'm just tired of it. This doctor was FANTASTIC. She was sweet, personable, and very knowledgeable. She told me some different things than the last doctor and gave me a couple prescriptions (nothing crazy) and right after, she sent me to an aesthetician. More details on these two visits coming soon in my next skincare post!
How do you organize your makeup? Any organization tips?
